The location is unbeatable, close to shopping, restaurants. Hotel staff was great, very welcoming and very helpful.
Your reception staff were excellent, all of them.
We had a great room on the top floor. Bed was comfortable. Area fantastic.
The wi fi conection was an extra cost and you had to re-pay every 24 hours. It disconnected every night at midnight. Sometimes we were in late at night and still working with the computer and it would disconnect.
The Hotel is in an excellent location: in close walking distance to cafe life, historical points of interest, shopping, and museums. In addition, the hotel was clean and well-staffed.
Location and value. Walking distance to museums, shopping. Seine, eating establishments and gelatio. The staff was helpful and welcoming.
The hotel is centrally located in a market area. The staff are helpful, the room comfortable. Air Conditioning was great as temp reached 100 degrees F. Close to Seine, bus line, metro stops. Excellent value for comfort and ease of enjoying the city.
Bathtub/shower -- the bathtub is very deep, no texture on the bottom of the tub makes it very slippery! Purchased a bath mat to use in the tub to make it safe.
We have stayed in St. Germaine Des Pres a few times before and wouldn't stay anywhere else! The hotel is located in the perfect location, surrounded by adorable brasseries, shops and galleries. Also, the desk staff was always very kind and accomadating, answering our many questions and following through with requests for dinner and such.
Having stayed at the Hotel Du Seine 15 years ago, we were eager to go back. Unfortunately we felt that the hotel had "tired" over the years and was quite plain compared to our memories (and other family who had stayed there years ago). The bathroom had mold growing in the shower . The room given to us was also quite small and unimpressive. I seem to have remembered a much nicer room years ago. We would choose a different hotel in the same area next time.
A short walk from the river, across the bridge is the Louvre, so you can stay Left Bank and walk to Right Bank. We had a triple room previously on 6th floor and that was quieter with distant view of Eiffel Tower. The triple room 44 was on street side so could not have windows open on a Friday night. The room is large and the beds very comfortable. No kettle but offer of tea tray from reception.
Street side room noisy on a Friday night. Could hear television from next room. If the hotel was anywhere else they would not get away with the bathroom window catch being broken so would not close, the net curtains needing a wash and a cracked toilet cistern. Would we stay there again for 230 euros? Quite likely because we were able to walk easily from north of Opera after our meal and avoid Chatelet metro.
Location, location, location.
Would have loved a little bar fridge in the room.
The location was good, on a one way narrow street. Lots of places to eat near by. About mid-way between River Seine and St. Germain. Air conditioner worked very well, but our highs were only in the low to mid 70'S.
Smallest elevator/lift I've ever seen. Narrowest hallways I've ever seen. Breakfast in a very small room was 12 Euros. 30 Euros for a family of 3 - much too expensive.
Friendliness of the staff, good breakfast service, availability of international newspapers (Herald Tribune, Financial Times). My room on the courtyard side qas quiet despite the Fête de la musique.
The hotel is small and friendly, and in a great location for the Left Bank just near to the bustling Rue de Buci, but away from the noise. It also has easy access to the Right Bank over the pedestrian Pont des Arts at the end of the road.
Our room was so quiet and pretty, and faced the back of the hotel with a view over the rooftops of the spire of St.-Germain-des-Pres and even the tip-top of the Eiffel Tower, which was so beautiful at night. Not large, but since all the old small hotels used to be private residences, that is to be expected. Nice bathroom, modern fixtures. The staff was very helpful and pleasant, recommending restaurants and boulangeries, etc. Excellent location near the Seine, Musee d'Orsay, walking distance to Notre Dame and the Iles, and the gorgeous Jardin de Luxembourg. And the Metro whisks you anywhere else in minutes. A small street market operates around the corner every day, or there is a Carrefours supermarche just down the street. Be aware: they were having the halls renovated while we were there, which they apologized for when we arrived, but we never even saw the workers, who must have been there while we were out for the day. Overall, a very happy experience!
Tristan, at the front desk, made us very welcome and gave us good information about restaurants and wine, and different areas of the city to visit. The hotel itself is in a terrific area, lively with lots of cafes and shops.
The room was a little drab, but the location was great.
The location was great, the staff very friendly and helpful. Very cute neighborhood. Beds looked old but were fairly comfortable. Tv stations were adequate for international news. The hotel had a certain amount of charm. We had a very nice stay at this hotel.
Although the hotel had a certain amount of shabby chic charm, we thought that some things could have been updated. Torn and ripped furniture is not very welcoming. The hairdryer could be more modern. It seemed like the opposite of a vacuum cleaner and did not work very effectively.
